The Smallmouth Guru graphite fishing rods were designed specifically for the power and surge of Smallmouth Bass. And the super-lightweight graphite blank coupled with a design that distributes weight evenly throughout the whole rod won't wear your arm out after a long day of casting.

Most importantly, when designing a rod for Smallmouth Bass, you have to take into consideration the amount of times they can dive, or surge, when getting close to the boat, and not just once or twice but sometimes 4/5/or more! That is why the SMG rod was built with a strong backbone, but forgiving tip. As your bass gets closer to your rod there's more and more pressure on your line, so the forgiving will help reduce line breaks.

In this day & age if you want to land a fish or Smallmouth of a lifetime, you're going to need the right equipment. Reels are certainly important, but the rod is an extension of your arm, the most important part of your equipment.
