Water levels have dropped to summer pool on Pools 8,9 and 10 of the upper Mississippi River near LaCrosse, WI.  Water clarity is excellent, with visibility down to around 3 feet or so.  Smallmouth fishing is on fire right now.  We have been fishing the main channel on rock bars and wing dams with excellent results, both in numbers and size.  Senko style baits have produced some excellent fish in 2 to 5 pound range, and lots of them!  Casting up on the submerged rocks and seeing the fish blast over and bust your bait - it doesn't get much more exciting!!

Largemouth fishing is also very good right now.  Post spawn have them moving into the weedbeds where you can catch them on a variety of baits including frogs, swimjigs and buzzbaits.  Water temps are in the upper 70's.  Air temps are also in the upper 70's to mid 80's.  Perfert weather to enjoy the day on the ole Miss.

Panfish, walleye and catfish are also being caught in good numbers.

I have some open dates available if you are interested in spending a few days up here in "God's Country"!
