Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 12/5/09 This past week on the water was all about small baits, average size fish and 10-foot water. Nothing to brag about except catching numbers; averaging 25 to 40 fish a day on small baits. It was really surprising but once I got off the grass and starting fishing points, bank cover like stumps or lay downs we had some really good times on the water. I fished mainly Punisher 1/8 oz. shaky head lures, using small Mister Twister worms and or pitching ¼ oz. Tight- Line jigs at cover, points and trees. Colors were mainly dark like black & blue jigs and June bug colored worms. We also threw Secret Weapon Lure Small Assassinator short arm spinner baits white in color around the cover. I was only on the water a couple of days but I had some great fun and enjoyed some early winter fishing. It won’t be long before the bigger fish will be feeding in the warmest part of the day and the chance of finding a trophy bass gets greater. I am selling Christmas gift certificates, I only sell a limited number; they make an excellent present for the avid fisherman.
