Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 11/5/11 The good times continue on the lake this past week, folks are catching fish, and they are having fun most days on the water. I wouldn’t say fishing is as good as past years by anyone’s imagination but it is better than it has been this fall so far. The cooler temperatures are allowing for some good catches and bigger fish but the day is work and there is certainly down time during the day! This past week we spent most of the time on the water fishing a variety of top water baits and then on the sunny high pressure time of day we went to crank baits and Punisher spinner baits off the grass edges and the back side of the ledges. Most of my customers this week averaged somewhere between 15 and 25 fish a day and a few good size ones in there with them. There is still plenty of fall fishing left for the year as the water temperatures are still in the mid to high 60’s and unless we get some extreme cold the lake will cool gradually and fall fishing should continue for the next several weeks. The grass on the lake is still strong and the top water bite should remain strong until we see the grass rot off the ledges and points throughout the lake!
