Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/8/11 This past week on Guntersville might very well be the worst fishing I have seen on the 38 years I have fished this lake! Even on the bad years or times on the water you could find a small fish bite and still catch several fish but this is just shameful! You’re lucky to catch 5 fish in an 8 hour day and that is a good day. My customers are fishing hard long days and the bites are scarce, we are working from 10 ft. of water to 2 ft of water! Fishing on top of the grass with frogs, and on the bottom with worms and lizards; fishing fast moving baits and slow ones, the fishing is just not happening! The water temperature is in the mid 70’s by mid day and high 60’s at first light; certainly cool enough to move the fish into a fall pattern. The bottom line is unless something changes be prepared for long days and just a few opportunities; don’t miss the few bites you get as you will not get a second chance!
