Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/22/11 The cooler nights and wind made for some great improvement in the fishing this past week on Guntersville! The bass were definitely more active, the wind pushed the bait around creating more top water activity and the bigger fish moved up into the more typical fall spots. It truly was the best week we have had in over two months. The best news was we had a lot of top water activity and my customers had some great fun as the bigger fish were slamming the El Grande frog buzzing over the open grass. It was a test of patience when they got those big time strikes to hold there for a couple of seconds to insure a good hook set! People come down to Guntersville from all over to experience the top water bite in the fall and this past week did not disappoint them. Fishing is getting better, there is once again a variety of patterns you can catch fish on and we are catching 20 plus fish in and eight hour day and missing just as many!
