We've heard of mostly good outings this past week, although there were a few that had tough days. It seems that the numbers have picked up since the week before when we had all of that crazy changing weather, and the guys that called or stopped in the 1 Stop who said they had big numbers (and big fish) were using a combination of Float & Fly and a football head or peanut head jig. Bobby Gentry (www.BobbyGentry.com) of Bobby Gentry Guide Service had a gentleman call him who watched the FNF 101 DVD and wanted to take his 10 year old son FNF fishing. It was the first time for the father & son duo on the fly, and they had a great time and caught a bunch of fish. The 10 year old boated 4 for his first fly trip, including the nice hog in the pic, which just goes to show you that Float & Fly is for everyone.

Lake Stats

Waterlevel: 637.73 MSL - 13.27' below full pool of 651'.
Water Temp: 50 degrees at surface, 50 degrees 10' deep
Clarity: water is pretty clear on the main body, stained in some of the creeks.

Smallmouth

We get asked a lot from people who don't know the lake well, "...where are the good spots?" Well, there's a million good spots in this lake, but what's good last week may not be good this week, and it almost always has to do with the weather conditions (with some other contributing factors of course). It's a good idea to keep an eye on the weather, and the pressure in particular. Smallies seem to bite the best when the pressue is under 30, but that doesn't mean you won't have a good day when it's up, it just seems a little better with low pressure...
