The "blade" has been around a long time, and avid bassers know it to be one of the most versatile lures ever invented. Nevertheless, few of us get the most out of these bass catchers.A spinnerbait doesn't really look like anything that should catch a bass. Â There's too much metal, too much rubber and too much to give it away as being unnatural. It's a small wonder, then, that the spinnerbait is an absolutely deadly bass catcher --- a lure that has tempted countless largemouths, smallmouths and spotted bass during all four seasons of the year and all 24 hours of the day.
That's why --- night or day, summer or winter, spring or fall --- the spinnerbait is always a viable option for bass anglers who know how to put this whirring, spinning, jigging marvel to work. It doesn't matter that the spinnerbait doesn't look like bass food to us. All that counts is the bass like them . . . or hate them . . . or react to them in other ways that put them on the business end of a hook.
Of course, not all spinnerbaits are created equal and not all blade methods are equally effective at all times. The days when you can simply tie on a spinnerbait, cast it out, crank it back and get busy unhooking fish are few and far between. Even a lure as effective as the spinnerbait requires some guile and technique. That's where our experts come in.
